Hawaiian Christmas-Snorkeling

Hanuama Bay is a must see if you are ever on the island of Oahu. Josh, Heather and I went snorkeling while Joe watched the little boys. It was amazing. I love sea turtles and Josh found one on the reef for us to swim with.

The sunset was beautiful there.

We kept seeing these little critters and finally found out they were mongoose. They were very cute and fun to watch.

Oh, I have to admit, those photos make me a little jealous of your trip. It is so beautiful. Mongoose? Weird. Maybe Casey can leave a comment and tell us a little about those animals. Only thing I know about them is that they eat snakes (Riki-tiki-tavi was a mongoose in a Rudyard Kipling story).

Pam,
Actually a greedy sugar plantation owner introduced them to kill rats. Now they are a big nuisance and endanger native birds and other species.

Well, there you go! I knew they were native to India, but was surprised to see them in your photos.
